Finance Filters
Finance filters screen jobs by budget and payment verification. All are optional — leave them at their defaults to receive everything within your categories.
Verification Toggles
Payment Verified
Default: ON
When ON, you receive all jobs regardless of whether the client has verified payment. When OFF, only jobs from clients with verified payment are sent.
Hourly Rate Unspecified
Default: ON
Some hourly jobs on Upwork don't list a specific rate range. When ON, these jobs are included. When OFF, only hourly jobs with a defined rate range are sent — your minimum hourly rate filter (if set) still applies.
Budget Minimums
Minimum Hourly Rate
Set a floor, in USD/hr. A job offering $15–30/hr won't pass a $25 minimum — the upper end of the range must meet your threshold.
Only affects hourly jobs with a defined rate range. Fixed-price jobs ignore this entirely.
Leave empty to accept all hourly rates.
Minimum Fixed Price
Set a floor, in USD, for fixed-price jobs. Anything below this amount is filtered out.
Only affects fixed-price jobs. Hourly jobs ignore this entirely.
Leave empty to accept all fixed-price budgets.
How Matching Works
Each Upwork job has one of these budget types:
| Budget type | What it means | Checked against |
|---|---|---|
| Fixed | A single price, e.g. $500 | Minimum fixed price |
| Hourly range | A rate range, e.g. $20–40/hr | Minimum hourly rate (upper end) |
| Hourly unspecified | Hourly, but no rate listed | Hourly unspecified toggle |
All finance filters are independent — a job must pass all active checks to be sent. Leave any filter at its default to skip that check entirely.
Tips
- Don't set a minimum fixed price too high — many legitimate jobs have modest budgets, especially from new clients
- The minimum hourly rate uses the upper end of the range:
$15–30/hrpasses a$25minimum - Turning "Payment verified"
OFFreduces job volume — most new clients don't have it yet
