Pause & Mute
There are two ways to control job notifications — and they work at different levels.
Pause (Bot-Level)
Pausing stops job delivery entirely. No messages arrive until you resume.
To pause:
- Press 🔕 Pause in the bot menu
- Or type
/pause
To resume:
- Press 🔔 Resume in the bot menu
- Or type
/resume
When you resume, upHunter immediately starts sending new matching jobs. You won't receive jobs that were posted while you were paused — pausing skips those, it doesn't queue them.
Paused vs Expired
Pausing keeps your subscription active — you just don't receive messages. If your subscription expires, alerts stop regardless of the pause setting.
Mute (Telegram-Level)
If you just want quiet without missing jobs, mute the bot chat in Telegram instead of pausing:
- Long-press the bot chat → Mute notifications
- Or open the chat → menu → Mute
Jobs still arrive — they just won't make a sound. This is useful when you need focused work time but still want to check jobs when you're ready.
| Pause | Mute | |
|---|---|---|
| Jobs arrive? | No | Yes |
| Sound? | — | Off |
| Subscription runs? | Yes | Yes |
| Jobs queued? | No | — |
Which Should You Use?
- Mute if you want quiet for a few hours but don't want to miss opportunities
- Pause if you're taking a break and don't want jobs at all — the bot stops sending entirely
